Job Summary
Coach parkour curriculum in recreational classes to ages 7 and older including teens and adults. Coaching occurs in hour-long classes with opportunities including birthday parties, events, and summer camp.
Responsibilities & Duties
Coaching weekly parkour classes
Supervising open gyms
Coaching special events (including open houses, birthday parties, summer camp competitions, annual Halloween party, etc.)
Help share basic cleaning duties
Able to demonstrate basic parkour skills
Performance Expectations
Shows excitement to coach through learning and self-development
Resolves and manages conflict disruptions to classes
Applies risk management and safety in potentially dangerous settings and environments during classes
Maintains a positive attitude and collaborates well with the team accurately
Monitors and mitigates safety concerns, facilitates class learning, and engages students
Develop and implement lesson plans that foster growth and development for children
Learn, teach, and demonstrate basic parkour movements that are adaptable to different student capabilities
Maintain a positive, empathetic, and self-aware presence to students, staff, and clients in a professional manner
Qualifications & Skills
Willingness to learn and develop as a parkour coach athlete
Experience with parkour or a similar movement background I.e. dance, gymnastics, climbing, martial arts, etc.) OR experience in a camp environment.
Minimum of 1 year experience in a teaching, coaching, or supervising position.
First Aid certification is preferred but not mandatory.
Positive, professional attitude. Empathy and problem-solving skills.
Applicants are required to be a minimum of 16 years of age.
High school graduate (or equivalent) required, college preferred.
Bonus points for related fields of study/experience. Experience is helpful, but not necessary. We train!
